It's A Partnership

With the help of a TRM representative, you will be partnering with a refugee resettlement agency to help a refugee family start their new life in America.

Your TRM representative will also help you Mobilize Your Church, sharing the responsibilities and the joy. Your entire church group can have a cross-cultural experience and build lifetime relationships with your new international neighbors.

Welcome Family Partnerships

Attend a two hour training, help agency set up apartment, greet the family at the airport when they first arrive in America, visit and build a relationship with your refugee family offering them your faithful friendship and loving support to help make their transition to American life smooth. (3 month commitment)

Welcome Baskets Partnerships

Attend a two hour training, collect items together as a class for the welcome basket, go with a TRM representative to meet a recently arrived refugee family, invite them to your home for dinner and thus begins a beautiful relationship that will transform both the refugee family and your group. (3 month commitment)

Welcome Baby Partnerships

Attend a two hour training, go with a TRM representative to meet your refugee mama, make regular visits to their home, help them get to doctor appointments, show them where the diaper banks are, arrange a tour at the hospital where she will give birth, throw a baby shower, be a faithful friend and help this mother-to-be feel loved and cared for in the days leading up to the baby. (3 month commitment)

Welcome Home Partnerships

Work together with the refugee resettlement agency to gather donations and set up an empty apartment so that it is a beautiful home to welcome the new arrivals when they start their new life in America. (1 time commitment)

Welcome Neighborhood Partnerships

Invite a group of families or youth from your church to do an event in a refugee neighborhood, playing with the kids and engaging with the community. Our TRM Outreach team will provide cross-cultural training and debriefing after, and groups are encouraged to follow up with some regular play dates. (1 month commitment)

Sign-up to attend a Volunteer Information Night!

This is a required training for all volunteers and a First Step in getting connected.

After attending the training and when you are ready to begin a relationship with a refugee family, a TRM representative will partner with you to give advice and offer resources. They may also help you determine which opportunity to start with that fits your group.
